ALBAWABA - According to a statement by the Lebanese Army, a Lebanese soldier was killed after an Israeli strike on a military post in the south.
A soldier "died of his wounds sustained due to the Israel army targeting of an army vehicle" in south Lebanon, according to a statement on X, following reports of two servicemen injured in the event near Qlayaa.
On Tuesday, the military reported three soldiers were killed when "the Israeli enemy targeted an army position in the town of Sarafand"; the health ministry stated eight people were injured.
The Lebanese Army also reported that two troops were injured after an Israeli attack hit a military vehicle on the Burj Al-Muluk-Qlayaa road in southern Lebanon.
This incident occurred amid rising tensions along the Lebanese-Israeli border. On September 30, the Israeli army declared the start of ground operations near the border with southern Lebanon.
In recent months, Hezbollah and the Israeli army have traded cross-border firing. Hezbollah has repeatedly refused to suspend operations in Lebanon unless the war in Gaza is ended.
