ALBAWABA - A Lebanese soldier was injured in an Israeli drone attack on Wednesday, the Lebanese army announced.
The army released a statement confirming that one soldier was wounded during a mission to open a road at the entrance to the town of Kawkaba, southern Lebanon.
The statement also confirmed that an army unite was working to facilitate the passage of displaced people from Southern Lebanon amid Israel's announcement to clear some villages and towns before targeting "Hezbollah positions".
This injury comes shortly following the news that an Israeli soldier was killed during fighting in southern Lebanon.
Israeli military announced that soldier Eitan Itzhak Oster, 22, was killed during a fighting in Lebanon.
The statement also added that Oster was a team commander in the Egoz unit, which is an elite Israel Defense Forces commando unit specializing in anti-guerrilla warfare, special reconnaissance, and direct action. It is a part of the IDF Central Command's 89th Brigade.
Israel announced on Monday, Sept. 30, the start of its ground invasion of Southern Lebanon targeting Hezbollah positions who have been firing rockets towards Israel since its aggression on the Gaza Strip on Oct. 7, 2023.
Israel announced on Sept. 23 intensified attacks on Hezbollah positions in multiple locations in Lebanon, especially in the south. The attacks led to the death of main Hezbollah commanders including Fuad Shukr, Ibrahim Aqil, Ali Karaki and the movement's secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah.
