Lebanese Information Minister, Ghazi Al-Aridi affirmed that Syria is an important country in the region and has a main role on the regional and international levels.
During an interview with a Lebanese newspaper, Al-Anwar, on Sunday, Aridi emphasized the Syrian-Lebanese concomitance of positions and their commitment to those strong principles.
He criticized US President George W. Bush’s recent Mid-East speech and the US and Israeli campaign against Syria and Lebanon.
On his part, Lebanese parliament member, Michael Al-Daher, praised Damascus’ national stances and sacrifices for Lebanon, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency.
Daher criticized Bush’s speech, terming it contradictory to the peace process, the Madrid conference, and adding it ignored the Arab peace initiative. (Albawaba.com)
