Israeli occupation soldiers raided a West Bank refugee camp in Nablus early Friday, sparking a shootout that killed at least two Palestinian fighters, according to Palestinian officials and witnesses. A third was seriously wounded, they said.
One Israeli soldier was also wounded.
Meanwhile, Palestinian authorities started enforcing a ban on public displays of weapons Thursday, detaining three people and confiscating the guns of off-duty police officers, the AP reported. The Palestinian police chief, Ala Husni, stated that following Israel's withdrawal from Gaza Strip there is no longer a reason for anyone other than security officers to carry weapons.
