At least 33 die in Baghdad blasts

Two suicide bombers blew themselves up near a restaurant frequented by policemen in Baghdad Thursday morning, killing at least 33 people and wounding 19, police said.

 

The explosion took place at central Baghdad at about 9:45 a.m., when police officers frequently stop by for breakfast.

 

Meanwhile, the brother of Iraq ‘s parliamentary speaker Hajem al-Hassani has been nabbed in the northern city of Kirkuk, police said on Thursday. They said Hatem al-Hassani was seized on Tuesday.
