Some of the world’s leading physicians, including many from the Arab world, are to attend a three day conference in Alexandria, Egypt, where they expect to hear new findings which reveal how counterfeiting may be contained, as well as statistics showing that more couples are enjoying better sex through oral erectile dysfunction (ED) treatment.
The 4th Annual Meeting of the Mediterranean Association of Andrology (AMA) is expected to bring to light the latest research into medical issues surrounding the male reproductive organ, including results which confirm that ED has a physical (or physiological) cause in nearly 90 percent of cases.
“Such findings bring hope to the millions of ED sufferers across the Middle East, where male health issues are not openly discussed, and where ED has long suffered from the stigma of being associated with psychological disorder,” said Dr. Ahmed El Hakim, Pfizer’s Middle East Director of Health Policy and External Affairs.
Like most other physiological problems, ED is often eminently curable using a variety of safe oral therapies, such as the Pfizer medication, Viagra. The “little blue pill” is used by 27 million men around the world and has been proven to be a safe and effective ED cure, after more than 13,000 patient-years of observation in clinical trials - more than any other ED drug.
Doctors also expect to hear about new research into male infertility, another common andrological condition. Such research will also help to reduce misunderstanding about childlessness among couples, which is still blamed on the “barren” woman in many cases.
