The prominent British journalist and writer, Patrick Seale, stressed Monday that the war on Iraq was mere a false trick, asserting that the US President George Bush and British Prime Minister, Tony Blair cheated the world opinion by their allegations that Iraqi weapons threaten the security of the region and the world as a whole.

In an article published by the UAE's al-Ittihad newspaper, Seale wondered whether Bush and Blair were provided with false reports or they took the alleged Iraqi danger weapons as a pretext to justify their war on Iraq.

He stressed the importance of the dialogue on the legitimacy of the war and the Iraqi weapons which the international inspectors have not found, because it will protect other states from the American threat.

Seale is considered one of the most in-depth British

journalists in the Middle East. He is the former correspondent of the London-based newspaper The Observer. Seale is mostly known for his biography on the late Syrian president Hafiz al Assad. (Albawaba.com)
