Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah is expected to leave for South Africa on Sunday at the head of a top-level military delegation.

The several-day visit will be in response to an invitation by South Africa's Defense Minister Mosiuoa Lekota with whom the Kuwaiti minister will hold formal talks, on means of bilateral cooperation in military issues, according to the Kuwait News Agency.

Sheikh Jaber is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on exchanging military visits and holding training sessions. During his visit to South Africa, he is scheduled to visit military installations and weapons’ factories with the view of taking close looks at the latest armaments manufactured in South Africa.

Kuwait has had good relations with South Africa for the past few years, culminating in 1994 with the exchanges of ambassadors. (Albawaba.com)
