Foreign Ministers of Kuwaiti and Iraq will visit Jordan next week separately for talks with Jordanian officials on bilateral and regional issues, reported the official Petra news agency Wednesday.
Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad will arrive in Amman next Tuesday in a tour that will also take him to Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, said Petra.
The Kuwaiti minister will convey a message to King Abdullah from Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Jaber Al Sabah, focusing on means to ensure success to the upcoming Arab summit due to begin in Amman on March 27, added Petra.
Meanwhile, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammad Said Sahhaf will arrive in Amman next Saturday for talks
with Jordanian officials on bilateral relations and issues of common interest, said Petra.
Meanwhile, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Awad Khleifat arrived Wednesday in Baghdad, carrying a letter
from King Abdullah to Iraqi President Saddan Hussein inviting him to attend the coming Arab summit, said the agency.
"I have the honor of bringing a message from King Abdullah II to the Iraqi president, inviting him to take part in the Arab summit in Amman," Khleifat said.
For security reasons, Saddam has not left Iraq since the Gulf crisis of 1990 after his troops invaded Kuwait.
