Muscat – According to Mohammed Al Maskari, Acting Director General, Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), COMEX 2006 was a great success for the Rusayl-based Tech Park. “This was the third time we’ve exhibited at COMEX and the show provided us with real insight into the IT market for the next 12 months. The stand team was very busy and we met a number of domestic and international firms who are genuinely interested in setting up on KOM. In fact, we signed deals with six new tenants at the show, organizations that will occupy in excess of 1,300 square metres. Moreover, we fully expect to sign lease agreements with a further six firms in the coming weeks. ”
Recently recruited tenants will be accommodated in KOM’s new 10,000 square metre facility which is expected to be completed by August 2006. New tenants work in areas that include: disaster recovery; digital mapping; e-commerce; software development for the petrochemical industry; system applications and products for procurement and logistics; and e-Learning,” explained Al Maskari.
“We’re delighted to have Intergraph, SAP Arabia, Hewlett Packard, Techsia, Technostore and Minhaj Technologies as new tenants, in fact, they’re all helping to realize our vision for KOM - a place where companies grow and where technology, science, education and business come together," added Ibtisam Al Faruji of KOM’s Marketing Team.
“Overall, COMEX bought us a wealth of new contacts and provided many of our tenants with the opportunity to push their businesses to the next level,” said Al Faruji.
"With the new building coming live in August, we look forward to beginning a new era at KOM," said Al Maskari. "We offer ICT, knowledge-driven businesses a high-quality and high-security location with the ability to expand within the KOM campus over the long-term, allowing them to completely focus on their business without the concern of future relocation. We look forward to a long and positive working relationship with our new tenants," concluded Al Maskari.
