Morocco’s King Mohammed VI expressed thanks to the people of his kingdom for the joy they spontaneously displayed on the occasion of the wedding festivities that marked over the weekend the King’s marriage to the beautiful Lalla Salma.

"Amidst the joy that marked Our marriage, we were happy to witness the feelings of happiness and gaiety that you have been displaying since the announcement of Our blessed marriage", said the King in a message of thanks that was read out Sunday on Moroccan television by the royal advisor, Mohamed Mouatassim.

"We would like to extend to you, dear people, the statement of Our warm thanks and all Our esteem for having lent to your participation the most embellished decorations in every corner of our kingdom, in a successful blend between the centuries-old values of our civilization and our aspiration to development and modernity".

The King also expressed happiness of sharing with "brothers and friends, distinguished guests, the joys on this special occasion", the official Maghreb Arabe Presse reported.

The message further hailed the excellent arrangements taken by local authorities, the police, the Royal Gendarmerie, the auxiliary services and the civil rescue department.

After paying a special tribute to the inhabitants of the Rabat region (Rabat, Sale, Temara and Skhirat) for the care and attention shown and for the joy displayed, the sovereign also said, "we keep in mind and highly appreciate the joy and happiness manifestations expressed by Our dear subjects in the Wilaya of Marrakesh where we would have liked to hold these festivities".

"While renewing, dear people, the assurance of our deep thanks and our gratefulness, we pray the Almighty that Our marriage will be a prelude to a happy era, under the best auspices and auguring abundant blessings and continuous joy", the message concluded. (Albawaba.com)
