ALBAWABA - Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will be visiting Southport, England three weeks after the horrific stabbing incident that resulted in the killing of three girls sparking riots and protests across the country, according to AFP.
The statement added, "His Majesty The King will travel to Southport to express his continued support for those affected by the 29th July attack and the riot which followed in the town, and to thank frontline emergency staff for their ongoing work serving local people."
King Charles III to visit Southport amid stabbing incident
As reported by AFP, King Charles III will be meeting with members of the Southport community on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024. Moreover, he will also meet regional leaders, representatives from the emergency services, and others.
The meeting will also include local groups and faith leaders who were impacted by the Jul. 29 mass stabbing.
In an unexpected disclosure, British authorities revealed the identity of the suspect behind the tragic children's massacre in Southport, northern England. The alleged perpetrator, Axel Rudakobana, a 17-year-old of Rwandan Christian descent, has been charged with three counts of murder and ten counts of attempted murder.
Riots and protests erupted across the country over misinformation about the suspect being a "Muslim immigrant" resulting in many locals attacking Muslim-looking people in the streets.

Earlier this month, a video of a UK man allegedly chasing a Muslim couple with a chainsaw angered human rights activists and Muslims across social media.
The video in question took place at a gas station and showcased a man getting out of a white vehicle and running toward the people while holding a chainsaw.
A post on X (formerly known as Twitter) claimed that the incident took place on Aug. 5, 2024, at a Shell gas station in Manchester and called it an "Islamophobic" attack.
