Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi arrived Thursday in the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, for talks with his Pakistani counterpart Abdul Sattar on the situation in Afghanistan, regional issues and bilateral relations.

Kharrazi, who is heading a delegation for a two-day visit, will hold talks with Sattar as well as Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf discussing a mutual approach to a political settlement in Afghanistan, Iran’s official news agency (IRNA) reported.

They will exchange views on the recent developments in the region, especially in Afghanistan, and expansion of mutual cooperation is also expected to figure prominently in the talks, IRNA said.

According to the agency, Sattar, who visited Tehran recently, has always been stressing his government's strong interest in having relations with Iran at the highest level and expansion of ties in all areas - Albawaba.com
