Jordan's King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak stressed the importance of reviving the peace process and returning to the negotiation table on bases that guarantee rights of the Palestinian people and respect the international legitimacy resolutions.
During the meeting, held on Sunday in Amman, the King and Mubarak affirmed the importance of crystallizing a unified Arab position to support the Palestinian people and guarantee their rights to find a just settlement for the Palestinian issue, which is the core of conflict in the region.
According to Petra, the Jordanian monarch and Mubarak also renewed support to efforts of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and its President Mahmoud Abbas to form a national unity government that shoulders the current stage's responsibility and enables the Palestinian side to be effective and strong partner in the peace process.
The two leaders underlined the importance of continuing the international community's support to the Palestinian people and facilitating the flow of economic and humanitarian assistance to the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
