Jordan, India Discuss IT, Trade

The Association of Jordanian Chambers of Commerce (AJCC) on Sunday met with the Indian Engineering Industries Association to discuss promoting tighter bilateral ties in economic, trade and investment fields, reported the official Jordanian news agency, Petra. 

The Indian delegation expressed readiness to provide the relevant technology to Jordan, indicating that India had achieved progress in the IT field, with exports of $1 billion.  

The president of the AJCC, Hayder Murad, brought up what he called Jordan's attractive investment climate, calling it in harmony with international developments and economically open through free trade agreements.  

"India is one of the main trade partners of Jordan and Jordan's exports to India last year stood at $240 million and its imports reached $70 million," he was quoted as saying. 

For his part, the head of the Indian delegation noted the possibility of promoting cooperation between Jordan and India through increasing trade exchange and establishing joint projects – Albawaba.com
