Jordan’s Crown Prince, Hamzah bin Al Hussein has recently visited the Dubai Media City and Dubai Internet City. The Prince also held talks with key officials.

Khaleej Times reported that the Crown prince was received by Mohammad Al Gergawi, Director General of the Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone Authority and Chairman of Dubai Media City, Saeed Al Muntafiq, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Media City and Ahmad bin Byat, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Internet City.

"It was a great opportunity to showcase our vision for the future to the Crown Prince and present the role that the New Economy will play in achieving our goals," said Gergawi. The free zone officials also accompanied the Jordanian Crown Prince on a tour of the inspiring free zone campus. "The Crown Prince was impressed by the vision and strategy behind the free zone," he added.

The meeting between the Crown Prince and free zone officials also dealt with ways of enhancing the scope of Arab IT cooperation. "Jordan and the UAE have common New Economy goals and aspirations that create tremendous scope for cooperation and exchange of ideas. Cooperation between Arab states is crucial in developing a uniquely Arab response to the challenges of the information age. For example, the creation of localized software and media content are areas where we can work together," Gergawi added.
