Jordan’s Prime Minister Ali Abu Ragheb ruled out on Tuesday a cabinet reshuffle, saying “such rumors can never serve the nation’s interest.”

Press reports have said that Abu Ragheb was expected to reshuffle his 10-month-old cabinet thus week.

“The government reshuffle is usually prompted by specific circumstances which do not exist now,” the prime minister told Jordan Television, quoted by Jordan’s official Petra news agency.

Reports said that the reshuffle was likely to involve some 10 portfolios, and was expected to be followed by a change of guard at the mayorship of Amman and the arrival of new faces in the Royally-appointed Economic Consultative Council (ECC) – Albawaba.com
