The Dubai Traffic Court Monday sentenced a 30-year-old Egyptian to one month in prison and suspended his driving license for six months after he was found guilty of driving while drunk, Khaleej Times reported Tuesday.
The man who was arrested early on January 27th, was again found intoxicated when he appeared in court to face the charge of drunk driving. He had driven to the court in a drunken state, said the local paper.
He told the court in his 'defense' that he was not aware that it was illegal to drive while one was drunk. The prosecutor had referred the case to the court after getting him tested at the police forensic lab -- Albawaba.com
