Israel's Internal Security Minister Tzachi Ha-Negbi told a Parliament's House Committee on Monday that he might order the Temple Mount, Islam's third holiest site, reopened to visits by Jews within a week, even if the Waqf (Muslim religious trust) objects, according to Israel Radio.
The Israeli Minister said his country would wait another week for the agreement of the Waqf to visits by Jews. "We hope by week's end there will be an agreement, but if not, we will not wait any longer," Ha-Negbi told the special Parliament committee meeting.
It should be noted that last week, on Tisha B'Av, the day Jews traditionally mourn the "desruction" of the "First and Second Temples", extremist Likud Parliament Member Hazan vowed to visit the site, but was eventually stopped by police officials. (Albawaba.com)
