ALBAWABA- Israeli attacks across Gaza killed at least 72 Palestinians on Wednesday, including seven civilians who were seeking humanitarian aid, according to Gaza health officials.

The latest escalation brings the overall death toll since October 2023 to more than 64,231, with at least 161,583 injured amid ongoing bombardments and a deepening humanitarian catastrophe.

Among the victims were seven members of the Abu Al-Aish family, killed when Israeli warplanes struck their tent in the Nuseirat refugee camp. In Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighborhood, a drone strike targeted a civilian gathering, killing four.

Separate Israeli attacks claimed the lives of three members of the Habib family in Al-Sabra, while four more civilians, including three children, were killed when an airstrike hit a tent sheltering displaced families in Tel Al-Hawa.

The Health Ministry reported that in the past 24 hours alone, 84 bodies and 338 wounded were brought to hospitals, warning that “many victims remain trapped under rubble” due to relentless airstrikes and limited rescue access.

The ministry also confirmed that 17 Palestinians were killed and 174 wounded while attempting to collect aid, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed while seeking food since May 27 to 2,356, with more than 17,244 injured.

Starvation continues to take a deadly toll, with three more Palestinians, including children, dying from malnutrition in the past 24 hours. The famine-linked death toll has now reached 370, including 131 children.

Meanwhile, internal political rifts in Israel have deepened. Opposition leader Avigdor Lieberman accused Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of presiding over a “political collapse” and prioritizing coalition survival over national security, criticizing the government for refusing to engage in ceasefire talks despite Hamas agreeing to a truce proposal.

Despite the mounting civilian death toll, an Israeli army spokesperson said the military had taken control of 40% of Gaza City and vowed to continue its offensive, claiming success in recovering the bodies of 10 hostages during its “Gideon Vehicles” operation.
