Israel's President Moshe Katsav said Tuesday his country was seeking peace agreements with Lebanon and Syria but accused the Syrian leader of hampering efforts for peace.

"Unfortunately, Syria's president, by taking steps that are different to those of his father, is increasing the number of problems between us," Katsav said in reference to

Syrian President Bashar Assad, AP reported.

"Peace agreements with Lebanon and Syria would be important

for the future," Katsav added after talks with Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer during his two-day visit to Turkey. (Albawaba.com)
