ALBAWABA - Mounting criticism and diminishing public support surround Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, prompting growing calls for his resignation. The latest voice echoing this sentiment is former Prime Minister Yair Lapid, who declared Netanyahu unfit to lead the nation.

In the aftermath of the Gaza massacres, Netanyahu's popularity has waned, and prominent figures like Lapid are urging for a change in leadership. Lapid, the leader of the opposition Yesh Atid Party, took to social media to convey his concerns.

The War Cabinet, consisting of figures like Benny Gantz, Gadi Eisenkot, and Gideon Saar, is under scrutiny as they continue to support Netanyahu's directives. Lapid contends that their presence lends legitimacy to a leadership he deems unsuitable for managing the country.

Lapid insists on the necessity of a new cabinet or a change in leadership, asserting that the current government is ill-equipped to handle the challenges, particularly in the context of ongoing conflicts. The opposition leader, backed by 24 members in the 120-seat Knesset, expresses readiness to support alternatives, including the formation of a new government or the pursuit of early elections.

While Netanyahu remains resolute in retaining his position, public support has plummeted, registering as low as 15% in recent polls. The political landscape in Israel appears to be in flux as discussions about potential early elections gain traction.
