Iraqi Foreign Minister visits Iran for talks

Iraqi Foreign Minister Naji Sabri held talks in the Iranian capital of Tehran Sunday on an unscheduled 24-hour visit. 

 

Sabri, headed straight into talks with his Iranian counterpart Kamal Kharazi, who warned Baghdad to cooperate with United Nations weapons inspectors if it wants to avoid a US attack. 

 

"Iraq's full cooperation with the UN inspectors can deprive the Americans of a pretext for using force," Kharazi said, quoted by IRNA news agency, who feared the Middle East "cannot support another conflict." 

 

On his part, Sabri briefed Kharazi of Baghdad's cooperation with the arms inspectors. (Albawaba.com)
