Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Naji Sabri said that the Islamic peoples were exposed to “dangerous cultural, economic and political challenges which threaten their nationality and security”.

The Islamic world, according to Iraq’s top diplomat, is the “first victim” of the latest changes in international relations, especially following the September 11 attacks. Sabri made those comments during a speech at the Conference of Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Conference Organization, held in Khartoum.

Dr. Naji Sabri urged the Islamic Conference Organization to exert efforts to achieve solidarity, cooperation and unity amongst Islamic countries and to confront foreign challenges, the Iraq News Agency reported Thursday.

He also called for “resisting interference in internal affairs of any country” as well as “rejecting the use of force”. In addition, he called for affirming principles of justice and equality in international relations, which must be established according to International Law and the U.N Charter, which call for the respect of sovereignty and the rejection of aggression, INA added.

The Foreign Minister condemned the U.S-backed Zionists' attacks on Palestinian civilians. He decried the aggression and embargo on Palestine as a flagrant violation of the rights of the Palestinians. (Albawaba.com)
