Large groups of people launched anti-US rallies in Tehran's streets Wednesday to condemn sacrilege on holy Muslim sites in Iraq by the occupying troops.
Holding placards and chanting slogans, the ralliers expressed their hatred towards the recent crimes committed by US forces and their allies in the war-torn neighboring country.
According to the official IRNA news agency, in different groups, residents of the Iranian capital city were marching towards Enqelab Square, where a special ceremony is to be held.
On Tuesday, the head of Lebanon's Hizbullah accused U.S. forces of desecrating holy shrines in Iraq, and called on Muslims to defend the sanctities in the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala with their lives.
"By attacking holy sites, they are attacking all Muslims and all Shiites worldwide," Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah said of the U.S. occupation troops fighting Shiite fighters in Najaf and Karbala. (Albawaba.com)
