All Iranian visitors to the UAE and lovers of the Iranian culture lived on Thursday a night to remember, Iranian Ramadan Night, in Dubai Press Club (DPC).
Meanwhile, the club is organizing on Thursday in conjunction with the Consulate General of Egypt an Egyptian Ramadan Night at the DPC.
The night was fully packed with activities, enjoying attendees with the Iranian traditional music (mosiqi sonatti), the use of tonbak (hand drum), the tar (string instrument) and the naiamanna, various handicrafts and a sumptuous array of Iranian cuisine and sweets, said the Khaleej Times.
Mahmoud Amani, the Iranian Consul-General in Dubai, thanked the Dubai Press Club for hosting the event which gave the Iranian nationals the opportunity to present their traditional music and arts as well as their Ramadan customs and traditions, said the Dubai-based paper.
The ceremony began with a young boy reciting verses from the Holy Quran which was followed by a welcome speech by the Cultural Attache.
A monologue and performances on the tar, tonbak and naiamanna regaled the audiences.
Preparations for the Egyptian are also underway to present the residents of Dubai an Egyptian night, where the rich history of the country will be marked – Albawaba.com
