ALBAWABA - Ali Bagheri-Kani, Iran's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, led a team attending the emergency Executive Committee of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

This discussion will focus on reviewing the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, Chief of the Political Bureau of Hamas, in Tehran, as well as the "Zionist's violation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's territorial sovereignty".

According to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's statement, "This meeting is taking place in the shadow of the continuation of the Zionist regime’s crimes against the Palestinian nation, especially in Gaza, which has led to the martyrdom of more than 40,000 and wounding of 91,000 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children".

"The emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held following the consultations of the Acting Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the foreign ministers of the member countries of this organization," IRNA reported.

On top of Bagheri's agenda will be discussing the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh who was killed along with one of his bodyguards after their residence was targeted in Tehran on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Issuing a statement on Saturday, the IRGC said that the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh was "designed and implemented by the Zionist regime and supported by the criminal government of America".
