A Spanish company has signed a 100-million-Euro contract with Iran to launch an industrial unit for manufacturing detergents in the western province of Kermanshah, reported the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
Manuel Valencia Alonso, director-general of the Tecnica Reunidas
Internacional, the leading Spanish company in implementation of
industrial projects told IRNA that the contract has been closed
with the National Iranian Oil Company in Tehran.
He noted that Iran's good conditions has led to a very close competition among foreign companies to invest in industrial and technical projects in the country, IRNA said.
He said that Kermanshah is an appropriate venue for this project since this region bore the brunt of damage during the
1980-1988 war with Iraq.
Alonso said the Iranian experts would closely monitor all stages
in implementation of the project.
In 1998, the same company struck a 60-million-dollar industrial
deal with Iran.
In another development, the Iranian parliament on Sunday
gave the go-ahead for foreign investors to develop the country's
richest oil fields in the Azadegan area of southwest Iran, said the agency.
The move, approved despite the opposition of several conservative deputies, authorizes the oil ministry to sign "buy-back" contracts worth 2.8 billion US dollars in foreign investment for the development of the Azadegan fields.
The reformist-dominated legislature has already given general
approval of the budget plan, and is now debating the details in a process expected to last several more days, said IRNA -- Albawaba.com
