Iran says it does not believe it must report all of its nuclear activities to the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Islamic Republic News Agency reported.
The IAEA last week accused Iran of not honoring its nuclear safeguards agreement.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi told reporters at his weekly news conference that Tehran had informed the IAEA about importing uranium for peaceful purposes 12 years ago, which demonstrated his country’s good-will toward the agency.
Asefi said the IAEA has not been able to raise a single specific issue against Iran for the past 12 years. He said that also demonstrates Iran has been forthright and has lived up to its UN commitments.
In addition, he said a visit by IAEA inspectors has been scheduled within the “constant and regular” cooperation with the agency. (Albawaba.com)
