Iranian authorities have impounded two Iraqi tankers suspected of smuggling Iraqi oil, reported The Associated Press, quoting Iranian state radio.
The tankers had anchored off the Iranian island of Kish in the southern Gulf several days ago, the Voice of the Islamic Republic of Iran said Tuesday night.
The tankers lacked proper documentation and entered Iran's waters without permission carrying "smuggled Iraqi oil."
It added that a previously impounded tanker was still anchored off Kish.
It was not possible to obtain an immediate response from the Iraqi authorities, said the AP - Albawaba.com
