Police forces in the Iranian city of Gonabad in Khorasan province have confiscated some 27.9 kilograms of opium concealed in a car, reported the official Iranian news agency (IRNA), citing a local report.
The Persian daily Jomhouri-e Eslami reported on Monday that some four smugglers were arrested in connection with the confiscation.
It further noted that the forces, in another operation in the same city, arrested three suspects possessing 400 boxes of foreign-made cigarettes.
