Iran's oil minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and his Omani counterpart Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Ramahi agreed Wednesday to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of gas and oil, reported the Iranian News agency (IRNA). Zanganeh expressed hope that two-way cooperation would expand, particularly in the fields of oil and gas.
The two sides also exchanged views on the research projects and ways of exporting Iran's gas to Oman as well as on mutual cooperation in the fields of oil and gas technology and development, said IRNA.
The agency added that Iran's minister of industries and mines, Eshaq Jahangiri, and Omani minister of commerce and industries, Maqbool Ali Sultan, reached an agreement on holding the eight Tehran-Muscat joint economic commission session in Tehran in May.
Both Omani ministers are part of a delegation, currently in Tehran for ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Jahangiri expressed hope that through activation of the joint commissions, economic relations between Iran and Oman would keep pace with their political ties.
Sultan, for his part, said that his country supported a protocol for cooperation with Iran in the field of investment, and is ready to sign it, according to the agency -- Albawaba.com
