Iran and Japan started Tuesday their first round of talks on arms control and disarmament in Tokyo, reported Iran News Agency IRNA. The talks were held between Mohammad Reza Alborzi, director general of political-international affairs at the Iranian Foreign Ministry and Norio Hatori, director of the arms control and scientific affairs department of Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Disarmament, non-proliferation of nuclear, missile, chemical and biological weapons and the manufacture of conventional weapons were among topics discussed by the two officials, said the agency. An Iranian diplomat told IRNA in Tokyo that the two sides agreed to continue the talks. - (Albawaba)
