Investigations were underway Monday regarding people who clashed with security men in Riyadh Sunday evening, the official SPA news agency reported, citing an official source at the Saudi Interior Ministry.
"At 5:00 p.m. (local time) on Sunday, a security patrol, while performing its duty at Al-Amana Quarter North of Riyadh, suspected a motive of (a) driver of car and asked him to stop", said the source and added "but the driver tried to flee".
"The security patrol pursued the culprit who stopped near a rest house, and then came out of the car carrying a weapon", the official source added.
"Following that development, two cars came out from a place behind the aforesaid rest house carrying persons who started to fire random shots", said the official source, and added "with the grace of ... Allah, nobody was injured".
