ALBAWABA -  In a recent development, the International Court of Justice (ICC) has issued urgent directives to Israel, urging the submission of a comprehensive report detailing all temporary measures implemented within a month. The ICC's ruling imposes significant legal obligations on Israel, emphasizing the need for immediate actions to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza. The court specifically calls for Israel to ensure the prompt provision of essential humanitarian needs in the region.

Furthermore, the ICC emphasizes the urgency of Israel verifying, without delay, that its military forces are not engaging in violations previously mentioned. The court directs Israel to take proactive measures to prevent direct incitement to genocide.

In a comprehensive statement, the International Court of Justice underscores its call for Israel to commit unequivocally to avoiding any actions related to killing, assault, and destruction against the people of Gaza. This latest development adds to the ongoing scrutiny of Israel's actions and policies in the region.

South Africa's case against Israel in the ICJ
South Africa announced prosecuting Israel over genocidal doing in Gaza under the International Court of Justice (ICJ), gaining endorsement from multiple countries across the world.

The first public hearings at the Peace Palace in the Hague took place on the 11 and 12 of January. South Africa argued that Israel violated its obligations under the Genocide Convention in its application to the ICJ.

They further argued that "acts and omissions by Israel … are genocidal in character, as they are committed with the requisite specific intent … to destroy Palestinians in Gaza".

South Africa provided the ICJ with extensive evidence of genocidal intent in various public statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and other high-ranking officials in an 84-page complaint.
