ALBAWABA- An Indian Air Force Tejas aircraft crashed near Jaisalmer during an operational training sortie on Tuesday. The indigenous fighter jet went down close to a hostel complex in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer.

Although the pilot managed to eject safely, the jet caught fire upon impact. The Indian Air Force has initiated a court of inquiry to investigate the incident, as reported by NDTV.

Video footage of the crash captured the pilot ejecting from the aircraft just moments before impact. The Tejas, equipped with zero-zero ejection seats manufactured by Martin Baker, allows pilots to eject safely.

In the video, the pilot can be seen ejecting safely from several feet above the ground, showcasing the effectiveness of the ejection system.

The ejection process involves explosives under the seat, canopy detachment, and parachute deployment. The angle of ejection is crucial to ensure the pilot's safety by moving them away from the aircraft's path.
