ALBAWABA- The Al-Quds Brigades and Al-Qassam Brigades, Palestinian armed groups, engaged in intense clashes with Israeli forces in Khan Yunis, Gaza during today's early hours.
Al-Quds Brigades reported detonating an explosive device, targeting an apartment housing six Israeli soldiers in Hamad Town. Additionally, mortar shells were fired at another Israeli gathering in the town center.
Al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for targeting an Israeli Merkava tank with an Al-Yassin 105 shell.
Furthermore, clashes resulted in the death and injury of Israeli soldiers. The Israeli Army acknowledged three soldiers wounded in the Gaza battles over the past 24 hours.
Notably, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he would proceed with an invasion in Rafah, where 1.5 million displaced Palestinians are hiding, despite US President Joe Biden's warning that doing so would constitute a "red line."
Netanyahu, last Sunday stated that the operation in the southern city would last for no more than two months, but did not specify a particular date.
He also refuted Biden's accusation that he is "hurting more than helping" Israel by failing to restrict the killing of civilians in Gaza.
