Indian Beauty Competitions To Be Held in Dubai

Dubai will set stage for two beauty pageants this coming April, to choose the new Miss India Universe 2002 and Miss Kerala International 2002. 

 

Khaleej Times reports that Ramesh Menon of Image Media Communications said in a press briefing, that the two events “are not just about beauty, but will require contestants to demonstrate tremendous talent, intelligence as well”. Image Media, the organizers of the competitions, organized the Miss Kerala state contests earlier and have now joined the organizers of Miss India UK to introduce the two concepts in the Gulf. 

 

Miss India UK 2001, Parveen Sian, also present at the press conference, told reporters how her life had changed after she was chosen to be “ambassador for British-Asian women”. 

 

All Gulf states will hold regional selections for the two finals due to be held in Dubai. Candidates are required to be between 16 and 25 tears of age and Malayalee and Indian by birth. The girls have to live in the Gulf States or have a parent working in them.  

 

Twenty-four finalists from the Arab Gulf Countries will take part in the two pageants. Other than the exciting title of “queen”, various titles will be given out in such areas as beautiful skin, hair and smile, Perfect “10”, congeniality, talent, face of the year and much more.
