ALBAWABA - Israel has been found to be in breach of international law for its settlement operations and its exploitation of natural resources in the occupied Palestinian territory by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Israel must immediately leave the Palestinian territories after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Israel's continuous possession of these regions is unlawful.
The court took notice of Israel's rapid expansion of new settlements, which already total more than 24,000 units, in the West Bank. The ICJ underlined that Israel had to stop building any new settlements right now.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) dismissed the argument in favor of applying Israeli law to the West Bank and Jerusalem, citing violations of Articles 53 and 64 of the Geneva Convention by Israel's conduct as an occupying force.
The court declared that Israel had violated its international commitments when it forcibly removed Palestinian inhabitants from their lands. Furthermore, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) denounced Israeli settlers' confiscation of Palestinian land, saying it went against Israel's obligations under international law.
