The head of Lebanon's Shiite Hizbollah movement urged the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) opening in Doha to support the Intifada and take steps towards a total isolation of Israel, which he said would soon disappear.
"The Qatar summit should decide on a full Arab and Islamic boycott of Israel and relaunch all the offices of boycott," said Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah during a speech in the southern outskirts of Beirut.
"It should adopt serious measures to help break the ties certain Arab countries continue to maintain with Israel, even if they claimed those (ties) are limited, because with such an enemy, you cannot keep relations -- even if they are just held by a hair," Nasrallah said.
"We must again isolate Israel in the region and also offer a real support to the Palestinian people in their struggle so that they can pursue the intifada and nobody can conspire against them," he added.
Sheikh Nasrallah said that the year 2000 is marked by the collapse of the idea of a Greater Israel and by the approach of the collapse of the state of Israel itself." – BEIRUT (AFP)
