A meeting between a high-level Israeli delegation led by Foreign Minister Shimon Peres and Palestinian cabinet ministers planned for Saturday evening has been delayed following an Israeli request. Peres' office said in a statement that the "meeting will take place when it is properly prepared."
The teams were to discuss the easing of security and economic restrictions on Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer is scheduled to hold talks in Egypt on Monday with President Hosni Mubarak, the Israeli Defense Ministry said on Friday.
"The president of Egypt officially invited the defense minister to Alexandria on Monday," the ministry said in a statement. "The meeting will deal with political, defense and regional issues." (Albawaba.com)
