A helicopter crashed in the southwestern part of Turkey on Monday, killing one and leaving the four other people on board injured, officials said.
The helicopter, which belonged to the state-owned Eskisehir University, crashed into a rocky area close to the resort town of Marmaris on the Aegean coast due to an unknown reason, Marmaris sub-governor Isa Kucuk told Anatolia news agency.
The technician of the helicopter died, while the two pilots and two academics from the university aboard were wounded, Kucuk said. Witnesses told Anatolia news agency that soon after take-off, one of the helicopter's propeller axles broke, and while the pilot tried to control the aircraft, the second axle also broke.
