With less than a week to go before the Gulf region’s specialist Hardware & Tools exhibition opens at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, the number of participants is still growing, with the show registering a 30???% increase since the 2005 edition.
The burgeoning construction and property industries both within the UAE and throughout the entire GCC is growing at such an accelerated rate, creating growth in the demand for all elements of equipment, designs and technologies available to the construction market.  The upcoming Hardware & Tools, which has grown by 30% since last year’s show, will feature all the latest innovations within the field that are in demand throughout the region and across the globe.
According to Melanie Beese, exhibition manager with Messe Frankfurt, organisers of Hardware & Tools, the show aims at attracting a wide range of buyers from the building supplies and wholesale trade, department stores, importers, co-operative buying groups, facility manager, maintenance companies, purchase manager from hypermarkets and contracting companies as well as the keen DIY enthusiasts.
Major exhibitors are Dewalt, 3M Gulf, Coopertools and from China SMTCL, who’s leading products are metal cutting machines, which are separated into two categories. Firstly, CNC machine tools, which includes CNC lathes, CNC milling & boring machines, CNC drilling machines and CNC special purpose machines.  The second category is conventional tools, which includes universal lathes, radial drilling machines, horizontal boring machines and machine attachments.  In total SMTCL's ranges includes more than 300 varieties, which are exported to over 80 countries.
From the US, exhibitor Dynabrade specialises in the design and manufacture of unique portable abrasive power tools. These tools grind, deburr, file, sand and polish to industrial standards and are suitable for metals, wood, plastics, glass, rubber and even stone.
The exhibition will run along side four other shows: ISH Kitchen and Bathroom, Light Middle East, Garden, Landscaping and Outdoor Living and Hometech. More than 12,000 visitors are expected to visit all five shows, making this the leading design-led event in the region for the kitchens, bathrooms, landscaping, home technology and hardware and tools industries. The shows will attract interior designers, architects, specifiers, property developers, construction industry and landscape architects.
Hardware and Tools exhibition will run for 3 days from May 14-16. Exhibitors from 13 countries are expected to attend bringing with them all the latest innovations and advances in power tools, hand tools, hardware & accessories, iron mongery, woodworking machinery & equipment
