The Gulf Defense Conference was inaugurated Monday at Abu Dhabi, reported UAE’s official news agency (WAM).
The conference is organized by the General Exhibitions Corporation in cooperation with the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) and Jane's Information Office.
In his inaugural speech, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research said that the conference signifies “a clear commitment by the UAE Armed Forces to be a major participant in the regional and international dialogue on matters of national security and defense.”
He added that stability in the Gulf has become almost a prerequisite for a more stable world order. The security environment in the region continuously reflects the fundamental changes that are taking place on the international scene – Albawaba.com
