Foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) expressed “profound concern” on Wednesday over the deteriorating situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, during their 24th extraordinary session in Jeddah, reported the official Qatari News Agency (QNA).

In a joint communiqué following the two-day meeting that wrapped up on Wednesday, the GCC ministerial council “condemned the excessiveness of the Israeli government in using the most brutal aggressive means against the struggling Palestinian people and continuing the imposition of a siege and flooding policy which will definitely lead to grave repercussions and serious results.”

The council warned against the silence regarding the current situation's dangers for the security and stability of the entire region, holding the Israeli government fully responsible for this situation, said the communiqué.

The meeting is the third at the ministerial level this year. The last regular meeting was on June 3 in Jeddah at the council's 79th session – Albawaba.com
