If Formula One at the desert track was not enough to send your hearts racing, take out your dancing shoes and get ready for some percussion rhythms.
Gulf Air is the official carrier of Bahrain’s first international Salsa and Latin dance event featuring the 2005 World champion pair from Australia.
Baile Latino 2006, which will be held June 14 -16, 2006, will feature current Salsa World Champions, Oliver Pineda and his dance partner Luda Kroitor.
“We are looking forward to dance up a desert storm with a Latino twist,” says event organiser Celi Fonseca.
“We thank Gulf Air for sponsoring this cultural event that will further promote the world renowned Latin dancing.”
Gulf Air will fly the duo to Dubai prior to the Bahrain event.
The presence of the world champions at the event will further lift the event to great heights.
There will be a competition inviting all Salsa enthusiasts on the island to take part in the event. There are also plans to have dance workshops led by the world champions.
Oliver is Sydney’s only two-time World Salsa Champion having recently completed and won the 2005 World Salsa Championships in Nevada, Las Vegas.
Of Chilean descent, the dancer is one of Australia’s most undisputed talents. His unique dance style and teaching methods make him one of the most admired and sought after instructors.
His partner Luda, originally from Russia, currently holds the ‘World Salsa Championship’ title.
