Gulf Air’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ have landed in Dublin, as seven of the airline’s Irish cabin crew started a week-long promotional tour around Ireland, ahead of the launch of Dublin-Bahrain services in December.
The seven – five flight attendants and two of Gulf Air’s unique sky nannies – will be visiting travel agencies across Ireland to tell them about Gulf Air’s world-class, award-winning services, as well as running special promotions and competitions for agents.
They were joined in Dublin by Gulf Air’s president and chief executive, James Hogan, who said:
“Gulf Air is the first long-haul airline serving the Middle East from Dublin and we thought it was important to tell travel agencies about our services and our destinations.
“We are the only airline with more than 200 in-flight sky chefs who serve our first class customers, the only airline to have a sky nanny on each long-haul flight and the only airline to serve the Middle East and beyond from Dublin.
“Our Magnificent Seven will visit travel agents across the country, showing them the high levels of service their customer will get from Gulf Air.”
A similar tour also happening this week in South Africa, will promote Gulf Air’s new destination, Johannesburg which is being launched in December.
James Hogan added:
“We are already seeing strong bookings between Dublin and Johannesburg. Our connection through Bahrain is quick and convenient and is attracting a high level of interest.”
The Magnificent Seven include sky nannies Susan Barry and Fiona Moore both from Cork, flight attendants Aedín Curran from Moycullen, Co Galway, Rosemarie Siggins and Tara Coady both from Dublin, Edel Smyth from Monaghan, and Grainne Currid from Waterford.
About Gulf Air
Founded in 1950, Gulf Air is presently owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and is the only truly Pan Gulf carrier in the region.
More than half a century later, the regional, geographic and cultural values that the airline has embraced over more than half a century are still central in defining the brand and service ethos within the contemporary and global environment.
Today the airline’s network stretches from Europe to Asia and covers 44 cities in 30 countries. The fleet comprises 34 aircraft.
Under President and Chief Executive James Hogan, the successful implementation of the first phase of a restructuring programme, which commenced in 2003, has resulted in the establishment of a platform for sustained commercial operation.
It has also provided a framework for a succession of innovative products and services including the unique Sky Chefs and Sky Nannies that form part of Gulf Air’s ‘boutique airline’ vision.
The dramatic turnaround in fortunes has won international recognition. The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) presented the airline with the prestigious Airline Turnaround of the Year Award for 2003. Gulf Air was also the recipient of the 2003 Platinum Award for the Best Airline in the Middle East and North Africa, which recognised the airline’s commitment to service excellence.
