One of the key areas of debate at the forthcoming Gulf E-Business International Conference (GEBIC) in Dubai will be the urgent need to generate venture capital interest in e-business projects in the Middle East and the incubation of these projects, reported AME Info on Wednesday.
The news service said that over 400 Middle East officials and representatives of private sector companies will discuss at the gathering the challenges facing the Middle East in attracting venture capital to finance enterprising and innovative e-business ideas.
According to the report, venture capital is a key factor in providing the risk capital required to support e-business ideas that cannot find funding from traditional sources.
Increasing the level of e-business across the Middle East can play an important role in boosting the Gross Domestic Product of countries across the region as they face the challenges of fully embracing the digital revolution, AME added.
The GEBIC conference will be held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel from Monday 16 April to Thursday 19 April and will be addressed by keynote speakers from the US, Europe, South East Asia and the Middle East – Albawaba.com
