Various missions of the GCC states have either eased or assured to relax or lift visa restrictions on Pakistani businessmen soon, reported the Kuwaiti official news agency (KUNA).
Citing a statement by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Sunday, the agency said that Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassies have assured that the visa restrictions are temporary and will be eased or even lifted within the foreseeable future. Qatar embassy has also eased visa restrictions on Pakistani businessmen.
Meanwhile, the agency reported that Jordan embassy is insisting that all business visa applications should include letters of recommendation from the relevant chambers of commerce and industry and attested by either the EPB or the ministry of commerce. No complaints had been received from businessmen seeking visas for Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon, the EPB said.
On the other hand, the Kuwait embassy’s restrictions are quite wide in range and were enforced two years ago. Kuwait has no plans to ease the restrictions in the near future, said KUNA. (Albawaba.com)
