The Islamic Republic of Iran held state funerals throughout the country Saturday for 225 unidentified soldiers killed during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, whose bodies were recently uncovered in a mass grave, state television said.

In the capital of Tehran, thousands of people gathered for the burial of 25 soldiers. The other 220 were buried in over 40 places across Iran, according to Bagherzadeh, head of the search committee for missing soldiers. (Albawaba.com)
